The Clear Stream Avenue and Howell Road School PTAs recently hosted their annual Breakfast with Santa events for children and parents. Clear Stream's breakfast was on Dec. 10, and Howell Road held its event on Dec. 17. more
The village of Valley Stream held its annual tree lighting ceremony on Dec. 10 outside of Village Hall. There was a musical performance from Central High School Tri-M honor society students, treats and a chance for children to send their letters to Santa. more
The Central/Memorial PTSA hosted its annual holiday boutique and craft fair last Saturday afternoon. There were dozens of vendors who took up two gymnasiums at Central High School. The sellers had many handmade holiday gifts and treats. Money raised from the event will go toward scholarships for graduating seniors and other PTSA-sponsored events. more
The Valley Stream Recreation Department hosted it annual costume contest on Oct. 22 at Hendrickson Park. It was open to children of all ages. Judging was on the scariest, funniest and best storybook character costumes. more
