Rolling River Day Camp sits on five acres along Mill River, which snakes through East Rockaway and Bay Park on the way to East Rockaway Channel. The river can be a friend. It forms an idyllic backdrop for a camp replete with swimming pools, playgrounds and ball fields. It can also be a foe. Earlier this month, high school students had the opportunity to visit the Nassau University Medical Center for an experience like no other. The hospital in East Meadow played host to the Sanford H. Calhoun High School Medical Club on March 5 and students got to take a tour of the hospital, meet members of the NUMC leadership team as well as doctors, and also got to view two surgeries that were in progress. more
