Celebrating Italian-American Heritage in West Hempstead

October was Italian-American Heritage month — and West Hempstead made sure to show their appreciation.

Hempstead Town Clerk Kate Murray congratulated Josephine Falabella, Nancy Binda, Angela Pinto, Annette Koziarz, Andrew Monteleone, Josephine Capriola, Anthony Capriola, Jean Fichtl and Karen Molish during the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America Lodge 2245’s 52nd anniversary celebration. The organization represents Elmont, West Hempstead and Franklin Square.

On top of that, Hempstead Town Supervisor Don Clavin, Councilman Tom Muscarella, Councilman Chris Carini, Councilwoman Laura Ryder, Town Clerk Kate Murray and Receiver of Taxes Jeanine Driscoll welcomed members of Lodge 2245 as the town celebrated Italian-American Heritage Month on Oct. 12 at Hempstead Town Hall.
