You’ve heard of birthday parades, but what about retirement parades? Because the retirement parties for two of Baldwin Schools’ district office employees were canceled due to Covid-19, Superintendent Dr. Shari Camhi and staff members decided to bring the party to them.
Carol Smith worked for the Baldwin School District for nearly 30 years in the business office, and Carol Becker worked for the district for nearly 25 in the Human Resources department.
Teachers, staff members and school board trustees decorated their cars and headed out to congratulate the two Baldwinites on the sunny morning of April 28 to celebrate their dedication to the school district.
The parade kicked off at 11 a.m. from Hastings Street and headed east towards Milburn Avenue. The caravan swung by Riverside Avenue and Brookside Drive to greet the retired employees from a safe distance away.
