Wantagh Fire Department responds to Seaford house fire

First responders extinguished a house fire at a Willoughby Avenue home in Seaford yesterday evening.

At around 5:55 p. m. on Feb. 7, Nassau police responded to the incident and the Wantagh Fire Department arrived at the burning residence soon after and extinguished the flames. According to police, a 69-year-old woman had burns on her hand and was transported to a local hospital.

Police said the fire caused extensive damage to the home and the Red Cross responded to aid the displaced residents.

The County Fire Marshal and Bomb Squad were at the scene, and police say the investigation is ongoing.
