Some changes at Oyster Bay-East Norwich ,and Locust Valley school districts

The Oyster Bay-East Norwich and the Locust Valley Central school districts held their annual reorganization meetings on July 11 and 10 respectively, swearing in new board members and appointing and re-appointing the districts’ superintendents and other officials.

Francesco Ianni, Oyster Bay-East Norwich’s superintendent of schools, took the oath of office for the second year. In addition, newly elected board member Caitlin Amatrudo was sworn in.

The board also re-elected Laurie Kowalsky as board president and Nancy Castrogiovanni as vice president. Rita Bizzarro was re-appointed district clerk and sworn in alongside acting clerk Maureen Raynor and Antonia DeLuca as treasurer.

At Locust Valley, three new members were welcomed and sworn into the Board of Education at their July 10 meeting. Matthew Barnes, Nicholas J. DellaFera, who will be serving a one year term in place of Brian Nolan, and Holly Gaddy Esteves took the oath of office alongside re-elected board member Lauren Themis.

Margaret Marchand was also elected to president of the board, while Themis was voted the vice president. Kristen Turnow, recently hired to the position of the district’s superintendent of schools, also took her oath of office and officially began her tenure in that position.
