Island Park celebrates Virtual School Spirit Week

Posted

Island Park students and staff members showed that they are better together, but still connected while apart. They rose to the occasion during Virtual Spirit Week, held from April 13-19, by uniting for various themes and sharing pictures.

The week started with School Spirit Day on Monday, when students and staff members wore their school colors. On Tropical Tuesday, they donned tropical attire as a reminder that better days are ahead. Wise Words Wednesday featured shirts that help spread positivity with meaningful words, messages and images. Thankful Thursday honored real-life heroes — participants dressed like their local superheroes or made signs thanking them. The theme for Friday was freaky hair, with unique and creative styles that encouraged fun and embraced individuality.

Visit the district’s website, ips.k12.ny.us, for spirit week highlights from each school. The initiative brought a sense of lightheartedness, community strength and school pride during challenging times.
