Another year of business successes celebrated for the Merrick Chamber of Commerce

The Merrick Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 Installation dinner was an evening that celebrated businesses, community relationships and meaningful partnerships throughout the year. It took place on Jan. 25 at Mio Posto, a restaurant on Merrick Avenue in Merrick.

This year’s officers include President Ira Reither, 1st Vice President Margaret Mueller, 2nd Vice President Sharon Davis, Secretary Margaret Beigelman and Treasurer Rachel Morgenstern. The immediate past president is Femy Aziz and the chamber’s presidential advisor is State Assemblyman Dave McDonough. All were installed at the Jan. 25 dinner.

The board of directors was also reinstalled, including Joe Baker, Lori Berger, Frank Firriolo, Karen Fletcher, Arlene Gregory, Matthew Kryder, Julie Marchesella, Doug Mills, Frank Montan, Andrew Nachamie and Nelson Tso.

Those on the honorary advisory board include Ilene DIxel, Marian Fraker-Gutin, Susan Heisinger and Randy Shotland. The chamber’s administrative assistant is Christine Mooney.

Andrew Nachamie was named the 2024 Man of the Year and Kim Scharoff was named the 2024 Woman of the Year. The Professional of the Year was Ilene Fox, a teacher at the Norman J. Levy Lakeside School in the Merrick School District, and Member of the Year was John Amaruso of Bourbon & Brews.
