To all those who have subscribed to the Herald for years — and to those who are new readers — the staff of Herald Community Newspapers wanted to take a moment to say thank you. You enable us to do what we do.
Assembling a weekly newspaper — and now a daily website and newsletter — is no easy feat. It requires a small army of talented people, from editors and reporters to layout artists, photographers, advertising account executives, accountants, press operators, circulation managers and delivery drivers, not to mention human resource and corporate executives.
Subscriptions and advertisements fund all those salaries. So, to all our subscribers, and our advertisers, we very much appreciate your support during this trying time. We understand how fortunate we are that you have our back.
In return, we pledge to bring you the hyperlocal news that matters most to you. In normal times, that means stories about your friends and neighbors, schools and kids, village and town governments, and high school sports teams.
Things have changed over the past two and a half months. We still cover many of the same stories we always have, but our focus for the past 10-plus weeks has been on the coronavirus pandemic.
