The Five Towns Senior Center located at 37 East Rockaway Road in Hewlett at the Carriage House on the campus of Hewlett High School held an open house last Sunday.
There was a brunch, a visit from Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-Mineola) and entertainment from the Star Dust singers as well as individual voices. Training on computers, learning email and how to program a cell phone and use a digital camera were also part of the four and half hour event. A variety of classes, lectures and activities are offered at the center, and until the end of the year there is a new member special rate of $25.
