Longtime Inwood resident Patsy Maietta died on Oct. 5. He was 82.

Always on the go, Maietta found what he loved to do and did them for a long time.

A graduate of Lawrence High School, he lived in Inwood for 62 years. The longtime Navy veteran also ran the family-owned Pat Maietta mason contracting business for 40 years.

When he was 14-years-old, Maietta met the woman he was going to marry at the Number Two School, which is also in Inwood. He and his wife Madelyn were married for 63 years and moved to Margate, Fla. in 1992.

“He was so active; he was a motorcyclist, hunter and a great golfer,” Madelyn said of her late husband. “He was a devoted family man, very sincere, quiet and honest. No one was more honest than him.”

Maietta is survived by his children Lorri Capobianco, Sheryl Kolar and Patrick Jr., seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and brother Joseph. His daughter Lynny predeceased him.
