SIBSPlace of South Nassau Communities Hospital held its annual barbecue on Aug. 11. The four-hour event that began at noon was at the Hewlett Harbor home of Mike Schamroth, one of the organization’s founders.

About 150 people attended the yearly party, which included cotton candy, popcorn, art activities, a photo booth, sno cones, an ice cream truck and a giant slide.

SIBSPlace is a free Hewlett-based support program for children 5-17, living with a sibling who has cancer or another serious or devastating illness or a parent with cancer.
