Homecoming a blast for Elmont High

Posted

Elmont Memorial High School students were the first in the Sewanhaka Central High School district to celebrate Homecoming with a parade, party and football game on Friday night last weekend.

The magical night kicked off with a parade to the football stadium, where students, parents and faculty came together to cheer on their Spartan football team.

In addition to marching with the school band and flag corps, students who came out to celebrate dressed in costume to get into the Spartan Spirit.

Once all the preliminaries, including the parade had finished, it was time to announce the winners from the Homecoming Court.

Once all the student body votes had been counted, Christina Kelly was named the Homecoming Queen, while football star Tyronne St. Louis was named Homecoming King.

While the game may not have ended the way the Spartans had hoped — with a loss to Garden City — it was still a memorable night for Elmont Memorial High School.
