Lawrence-Cedarhurst and Inwood were among the 19 fire departments and Nassau police that responded to a three-store basement fire along Central Avenue in Cedarhurst on Nov. 22.
Police were met by an employee of Ezra Pharmacy, who helped them get into the building where they saw the basement blaze.
According to LCFD Chief James McHugh, the call came in 2:54 a.m. from 604 Central Ave. There were four alarms and firefighters were on the scene until 6:30 a.m. No one was injured, he said.
Atlantic Beach Rescue, Baldwin, East Rockaway, Elmont, Freeport, Hempstead, Hewlett, Lakeview, Lynbrook, Malverne, Meadowmere Park, Long Beach, Oceanside, Rockville Centre, Roosevelt, Valley Stream and Woodmere fire departments all responded. The Arson/Bomd Squad detectives were also on the scene.
