Celebrating the New Year at the East Meadow library, just a little early

Posted

The East Meadow Public Library held their annual Noon Year’s Eve party this past Friday, Dec. 29.

Often hosted by libraries or community centers, Noon Year’s Eve is a family-friendly event that is organized for families with children who have a hard time staying up until midnight for a traditional New Year’s Eve celebration. The goal is to help children experience the excitement of a New Year’s countdown, while also accommodating to their bedtime.

Instead of counting down to midnight, the party has a countdown until noon to help capture a similar experience.

There was a variety of games and crafts for the kids to participate in, as well as lively music throughout the party.

The concept aligns with the broader trend of creating family-friendly and inclusive events that cater to a wide range of age groups. Noon Year’s Eve parties have gained popularity as a fun and accessible way for families to celebrate together without the challenges of late-night activities for young children.
