A John G. Dinkelmeyer Elementary School staff member has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to a letter sent to parents by North Bellmore School District Superintendent Marie Testa.

The staffer, an unidentified female, self-reported to the district that she tested positive. The district had not been notified by any official agency, according to the letter, which was sent on March 24.

Testa notes that as more cases begin to appear throughout Nassau County school districts, residents should take precaution by maintaining social distancing, washing their hands and regularly checking for symptoms such as a cough or fever.

Anyone who is experiencing any symptoms are advised by health authorities to contact a physician or the New York State Department of Health's hotline at (888) 364-3065.
