Police: Sewanhaka security guard accused of sexually assaulting teen

An Elmont man allegedly sexually assaulted a teenager while working as a security guard at Sewanhaka High School, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Daniel Valenzuela, 22, was arrested on Dec. 5 and charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl on multiple dates between June and October this year. He was charged with first-degree criminal sexual act and third-degree criminal sexual act. Valenzuela was arraigned in the First District Court in Hempstead on Dec. 6.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about this crime, or anyone who may have been victimized by Valenzuela, to call the Special Victim Squad detectives at (516) 573-4022 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
