Valley Streamers charged in motel robbery

Two Valley Streamers along with a third accomplice were charged in connection to a motel gunpoint robbery early Monday morning in which one of the victims was reportedly stabbed, police said.

According to Fifth Precinct detectives, at around 12:40 a.m. on July 20, Judah Hernandez, 18, and Alonzo Loyala, 18, both from Valley Stream, as well as Bishop Wilkerson, 19, from Copiague, walked into the Capri Motel on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead and while brandishing weapons, including guns, reportedly demanded that two male motel employees, aged 18 and 19, hand over their money, clothes and cell phones.

After complying, police said the 19-year-old victim attempted to grab a gun from one of the trio and was stabbed in the stomach, suffering “deep lacerations to his abdomen.” Hernandez, Loyala and Wilkerson then reportedly fled in a Cadillac Escalade, and the stabbing victim was later rushed to a nearby hospital for this injuries.

Police said they found the Escalade later the same morning at 4:10 a.m. in Mineola and arrested the three without incident.

Wilkerson and Hernandez were each charged with six counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree robbery, three counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree possession of a weapon and first-degree possession and use of a firearm. Loyala was charged with six counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree robbery, two counts of first-degree assault, three counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, first-degree criminal used of a firearm and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. All three were arraigned on Tuesday, July 21 in Mineola.
