Second Brooklyn man arrested for returning stolen items from Home Depots

A second Brooklyn man has been arrested for stealing items from various Home Depot stores in 2017 and then returning them, according to a police news release.

Police said that Michael Dukens, 46, of Snyder Ave., was arrested in connection with seven cases from April 17 to Sept. 13, 2017, in which suspects returned stolen items for more than $17,000. The affected Home Depot stores include the one at the Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream, one on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont, one on East Sunrise Highway in Freeport, one on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown, one on Jericho Turnpike in Jericho, one on Corporate Drive in Westbury and one on Jericho Turnpike in Syosset.

Dukens was charged with third-degree grand larceny, third-degree criminal possession of stolen property and ten counts of first-degree falsifying business records. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on June 8.

Guery Roy, 40, of New York Avenue in Brooklyn, was also arrested in December in connection with the grand larceny. Roy was charged with third-degree grand larceny and first-degree falsifying business records.
