Police looking for man who stole phone in Valley Stream

Nassau County police are currently looking for a male suspect who allegedly stole a phone in Valley Stream on April 3 at 3:44 p.m.

According to detectives, a 38-year-old male victim was talking to a man interested in buying in his phone, and they agreed to meet near Ormonde Boulevard to make the sale. The suspect arrived in a bluish-green 5 Series BMW and requested to inspect the phone before buying it, which the victim agreed upon. When the suspect was given the phone, however, he tried to leave with it. Police said the victim grabbed onto the BMW’s steering wheel, and was dragged several feet before he let go. The suspect then drove northbound on Ormonde Boulevard. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male, who is around 20 – 25-years-old, about 5-foot-11-inches tall, with a slight built and a trimmed beard. He was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.
