After-school programs canceled in Valley Stream

Districts 13, 24 and the High School District have announced that after-school activities have been canceled today due to the storm, but tonight’s Central High School District Board of Education meeting will continue as planned. In District 30, Shaw Avenue School and Clear Stream will cancel their after-school programs, but Forest Road School will continue its after-school activities for the night. At all three schools in District 30, the YMCA programs will continue as planned.

Valley Stream will remain in a Winter Weather Advisory until Feb. 13 at 12 a.m. According to the National Weather Service, snow, freezing rain and sleet are expected to continue until 2 p.m., when the precipitation will change to just be rain and sleet. After 7 p.m., the National Weather Service reports, the precipitation will become all rain.
