The First Squad arrested two individuals from Inwood on Jan. 21 for a robbery that took place at 7:10 p.m. on Jan. 20 in Freeport. According to detectives, Zohia Uddin, 17, made arrangements with the unidentified 24-year-old man through social media to meet. Uddin entered the man’s car and they drove to W. Merrick Road for a drink.

The man entered the store and while out of sight, Uddin allowed Shawn Ulloa, 19, into the back seat of the car where he hid out of sight. When the man got back into the car, Ulloa sat up, put his hand around the man’s face and threatened him with a knife.

He demanded the man’s money, keys and cell phone. In fear of his safety, the man complied. Uddin and Ulloa fled the scene on foot and no injuries were reported.

The police investigation led to both Uddin and Ulloa’s arrest at Ulloa’s home in Inwood. Both are charged with first- and second-degree robbery.  Additionally, Ulloa is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous weapon.

They were arraigned on Jan. 22 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
