Support Malverne school budget

Posted

Malverne’s proposed $58.7 million spending plan has a tax-levy increase of 2.98 percent and raises spending 3.83 percent, which is below the district’s average year-to-year increase. As a result of the tax levy, taxpayers would save roughly $263,000.

District officials said the proposed budget, if passed, will help it maintain existing curricular and co-curricular programs, as well as services that meet the needs of a wide range of students.

Board of Education Trustee Josephine Bottitta is running for re-election unopposed. A Malvernite for nearly 30 years who has been involved in numerous programs in the district, we believe that Bottitta will continue to bring fresh ideas to promote productivity for students, and we urge voters to show her their support.
