Stop & Shop  recently unveiled its newly remodeled store at 465 Atlantic Ave. in Oceanside. In celebration of the remodel, and in support of the Oceanside community, the store provided lunch to more than 1,000 front-line workers at Mount Sinai South Nassau hospital.

The store, which opened its doors in 2011, is now noticeably brighter and more modern.  It not only has a new look, but it also has new features that are centered around delivering fresh, healthy and convenient options to make grocery shopping easier.

Highlights of the remodeled Oceanside store include:

Stop & Shop Pickup — orders placed online at stopandshop.com can be picked up at the store from the comfort of a customer’s car while a store associate delivers their order right to their trunk.

An expanded deli department that features an expanded assortment of offerings

An expanded bakery department complete with cakes, cupcakes and other treats

New grab-and-go meal solutions including a new hot foods bar featuring freshly packed entrees and sides

New self-checkout zone for added convenience

Organic and natural products integrated within the grocery aisles allowing customers to see all product options available

“We’re excited to share our newly remodeled store with our local shoppers,” said Carl Caixeiro, store manager of the Stop & Shop in Oceanside, according to a news release.  “We’ve added more of what our customers want and upgrades they need to get their shopping done faster and get back to what matters most.”

The lunch provided to MSSN staffers included sandwiches, beverages and snacks in a gesture of thanks for the hospital employees’ heroic service to the Oceanside and Long Island communities throughout the pandemic.

“Stop & Shop has been an incredible partner and true corporate citizen during this most challenging and difficult of years,” MSSN, Senior Vice President Joe Calderone said, according to a news release. “The thousands of meals and snacks they have provided to our front-line staff at the hospital helped keep our staff’s bodies nourished but, as importantly, provided comfort and encouragement to our spirits during this ongoing fight against the Covid virus. Just knowing that the community and businesses like Stop & Shop care about what is happening inside the walls of the hospital is very heartening to all of us.”
