Seaford and Wantagh will join the celebratory march beginning in Amityvill tonight in honor of Juneteenth — the day in 1865 when Texas became the first state officially to free all slaves.
The march will begin at 6 p.m. at Amityville Memorial High School, with intermediate stops at Massapequa High School at 7 p.m., and Tackapausha Preserve and Museum in Wantagh, at 7:50. The march is scheduled to finish at Cedar Creek Park at 8:30, with the celebration ending at 9 p.m.
A Black Lives Matter paceful protest march will be held tomorrow, June 20. The march will step off at 4 p.m. from the Circle M Diner on Wantagh Avenue in Wantagh.
Masks and social distancing are required for both events.
