A student at the Polk Street School tested positive for COVID-19, Superintendent Jared Bloom wrote in a letter on April 1.

As a result, the district would like to remind families to continue to follow state and locally-mandated precautions. If you have any questions about the health of your child, please call your doctor.

Additionally, the district recommends that everyone follow Department of Health precautions, including:

  • Staying at home as much as possible.
  • Staying at least six feet away from others.
  • Using good hygiene at home, including frequent handwashing and disinfection of surfaces.
  • Monitor yourself for symptoms, especially a fever, and contact your healthcare provider if you show signs of illness.

The district will continue to coordinate with the DOH, and provide updated information as often as possible, and please reach out to the district if you have any questions or need any support.
