NYRA survey proposes new eateries, seating arrangements at Belmont Park

The New York Racing Association sent select fans a survey on Oct. 10 to gauge interest in proposed new eateries and seating arrangements at Belmont Park.

Among the proposals fans were asked to vote on were renovations to the backyard picnic area, rooftop access, access to the infield on race days, a new social patio and luxury suites. Each option would increase the price of a ticket on the day of the Belmont Stakes.

These proposals would be in addition to the New York Arena Partners’ plans to redevelop some of the park’s back lots. Those plans would include the construction of a National Hockey League arena for the Islanders franchise, a 250-room hotel, commercial office space and 350,000 square feet of retail space. The project received its final state approval in August, and construction is currently underway.
