Two large medical tents can be seen outside of Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital in Oceanside, which were built to help the facility's emergency department amid the coronavirus outbreak.

An MSSN spokesman told the Herald that the tents will be used to help expedite the separation of patients with COVID-19 symptoms from those presenting with other emergency medical issues. Though they were set up this week, they will not be availble to patients until next week.

The tents are equipped with basic emergency medical supplies for the assessment and triage of patients.

As of Thursday, there wre more than 3,000 oronavirus cases in the county, and 19 deaths.

With cases continuing to climb, MSSN instituted a no-visitor policy earlier this month.
