For the second consecutive year, Malverne High School has been ranked on the U.S. News and World Report’s Best High Schools list.

“Very few schools on the list share our demographics,” Malverne High Principal Dr. Vincent Romano said in a news release. “Our diversity is our strength and something that we are very proud of. This ranking is a testament to the commitment of our teachers and staff, the support of our community, and the willingness of our students to accept no boundaries. This ranking demonstrates that hard work and strong relationships are the key to academic achievement. This is a true team effort — congratulations to all.”

Schools are ranked on six factors: college readiness (30 percent); math and reading proficiency (20 percent); math and reading performance (20 percent); underserved student performance (10 percent); college curriculum breadth (10 percent) and graduation rate (10 percent).

Malverne High School has been ranked in the top 10 percent of schools in the nation as well as in New York, placing Malverne 29th out of 111 that made the rankings on Long Island.
