A Lynbrook woman was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly driving while intoxicated with her daughter in the car.

According to a release by the Nassau County Police Department, a Lynbrook police officer observed a 2018 Honda Accord stopped on the shoulder at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Rocklyn Avenue at 2:12 a.m. on Tuesday. The vehicle was up on the curb and the engine was running. When the officer approached the vehicle, he saw a woman, later identified as Cindy Arriola, 30, unresponsive in the driver's seat.

The officer detected an odor of alcohol on Arriola's breath and she also exhibited slurred speech and glassy eyes, according to the report. She was placed under arrest without incident and her 8-year-old daughter, who was in the rear of the car, was released to a family member. No injuries were reported.

Arriola was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child under 16 and endangering the welfare of a child.  She was arraigned Tuesday in Mineola.
