Nassau County Police Department’s First Squad detectives reported the arrest of a Freeport woman for reckless driving and assault against a Freeport Police officer and a number of civilians on June 6, in Freeport.

Detectives said, Gabrielle Revere, 24, of Freeport, had a brief interaction with Village of Freeport police officers near their headquarters, on 40 N Ocean Avenue, before fleeing the scene and committing multiple traffic infractions.

The officers said they watched Revere driving erratically before she intentionally struck a nearby police vehicle, injuring the officer inside.

Revere then began driving into the flow of traffic and struck a parked taxi cab.

As officers went after Revere and attempted to stop her, she continued east on Sunrise Highway, after driving over the center median. Revere continued ignoring the officers’ attempts to pull her over.

When she approached the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Merrick Avenue, Revere struck two, occupied, stopped vehicles at high speeds.

The collision left three adult women and two girls injured.

Detectives said all injuries caused by Revere were non-life threatening, including that of the officer, and the victims were transported to a local hospital.

Revere was arrested at the scene and also transported to a local hospital.

She was charged with four counts of assault, reckless endangerment, three counts of criminal mischief, unlawful feeling of a police officer, criminal possession of a weapon, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving and multiple traffic infractions.

She was arraigned in Mineola on June 7.
