Elmont Cub Scouts donate supplies to children in need

Cub Scouts in Pack 294 recently collected 77 gifts and school supplies for Elmont students in need.

Natasha Warburton, the den leader, worked with Elmont Superintendent Kenneth Rosner to find out how many students in the district were in need this holiday season, and drop the gifts off to their homes for the pack’s annual Operation Christmas.

“This year we thought it was best to give back to our community,” Warburton said. “All of us are Elmont residents, and a lot of our children go to school with them.”

The pack has previously filled shoeboxes up with school supplies and clothing for children in Malawi, who, Warburton said, “were able to enjoy the Christmas they never had.”
