Burglary reported in North Merrick

The Nassau County Police Department responded to a North Merrick burglary that occurred at 10:35 a.m. on Feb. 8.

According to detectives, patrol officers responded to a 911 call that reported a burglary in progress on James Street. A female victim, 41, heard banging on the doors and windows of her home. She ignored the disturbance and heard voices inside the house a short time later.

The victim immediately called police to report the incident. Upon arrival, officers witnessed three male subjects flee from the home's rear door. A subsequent investigation revealed a forced entry through the front door. The victim reports no loss at this time.
