Brooklyn man arrested in Elmont burglary

Two men were arrested for stealing property from Showtime Auto Sales on Linden Boulevard in Elmont on Nov. 7.

According to Nassau County police officers, a male employee at the store saw three black men walking away from a store trailer carrying store property. He then notified the police, and upon arrival, the three suspects fled westbound on Linden Boulevard.

After a police canvass was conducted, Rolando Jean, 18, of Brooklyn, and a 17-year-old were located and placed under arrest. A police investigation was also conducted, and detectives located a stolen white Honda SUV nearby that the suspects had allegedly used.

Jean is charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree criminal trespassing, third-degree criminal mischief, two counts of third-degree grand larceny, petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.  The male juvenile, meanwhile, is charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal trespassing, third-degree criminal mischief, petit larceny and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Both suspects were scheduled to be arraigned on Nov. 8.
