Bellmore-Merrick CHSD to offer Summer Enrichment Academy

The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District will offer students a Summer Enrichment Academy — remotely.

This Refresh, Revive and Thrive program will be available for a four-week period beginning on July 20 to help students prepare for the upcoming school year by subject area and grade level.

“As we worked diligently to improve our distance learning practices, we have also utilized opportunities to identify key skills, concepts, and content across the various disciplines and multiple levels that need to be reinforced once school reopens next September,” explained Superintendent John DeTommaso.

Classes are available to all students and offer the opportunity to help retain key skills, relearn important concepts and dive deeper into curriculum.

“Refresher courses will be offered both synchronously (live) and asynchronously (recorded/posted) to all students and will be meaningful, engaging, and serve as great preparation for the 2020-21 academic school year,” added DeTommaso.

Students who actively participate in and complete one or more of the enrichment courses will receive a certificate of completion.
