Wantagh woman celebrates ‘cento anni’

Longtime Wantagh resident Millie Alberti celebrated her 100 years of life on May 16 by ringing in her historic birthday Covid-19 style. – The colorful, lively, and, according to Millie, seemingly endless parade took place at the Wantagh City Senior Citizens Center, where she was joined by friends.

Alberti and her friends sat six feet apart, family members and friends drove slowly past, calling out expressions of their love. Family members from as far away as Tennessee enjoyed the parade via FaceTime.

Alberti was born on May 11, 1920, in Italy and grew up in Brooklyn. The mother of three has six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
