On April 28, Town of Hempstead Councilman Christopher Carini and Nassau County Legislator Steve Rhoads continued their collection and distribution of personal protection equipment to healthcare professionals and civilians. The elected officials have once again partnered with Mad Men Barbershop of Merrick Road in Wantagh.

The pair, joined by Mad Men partners and Wantagh firefighters, used the Wantagh Fire Department Station 5 as their site. Several members of the Miss Wantagh court were also in attendance to aid in the handout of the donated masks.

On May 3, the same group moved just west to Bellmore. Once agan, they collected and distributed masks.

Mad Men’s most recent donation brings their total number of donated protective masks during this pandemic to nearly 100,000. Last Sunday, in front of the Bellmore Fire Department Station, Carini, Rhoads, two Mad Men partners and a select number of Bellmore firefighters helped distribute roughly 1,400 to first responders, medical personnel and senior citizens. This brings the total of distributed masks during Mad Men associated donation events to 15,000 masks physically handed to the public. All members participating the event were wearing masks and adhering to general safety precautions.

The officials plan to partner with Mad Men again.
