SCFD hosts ‘A Night at the Races’

Posted

Over 60 people spent a rainy Saturday night at the Sea Cliff Firehouse to partake in the “Night at the Races” fundraiser, which was organized by Phil Como. The fundraiser benefited the department’s fire medic unit and engine company. Over $2,600 was raised for the effort.

This was the first time such an event was held at the firehouse. The night included an auction and a 50/50 raffle that simulated horse races, hence the name. Participants “bet” on a variety of prizes. After every “race” a prize was awarded to the winning better.

The consensus? “The night was very successful and everyone had a great time,” Como said.
