A Rockville Centre teenager was arrested and charged with burglary after she allegedly threw two rocks through a window and a door at a Lynbrook McDonald’s.

According to a release from the Nassau County Police Department, Maria Campione, 19, was arrested in connection with the crime shortly after the Lynbrook Police Department and members of the Fire Department responded to a fire alarm ringing at the restaurant, at 12 Merrick Road. When they arrived, it appeared someone had entered the establishment after throwing two rocks through the side drive-thru window and the front glass door.

After police conducted an investigation, it led them to Campione, who was in close proximity to the McDonald’s and was observing the activity from police officers and firefighters. When the police began to question her, Campione ran away, but the officers quickly caught up with her and placed her under arrest after a brief struggle.

No injuries were reported and no money was recovered.

Campione is charged with third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief. She was arraigned in First District Court, in Hempstead, on Monday.
