Fair Three churches honor MLK at a service

Members of three different churches gathered at Oyster Bay’s Christ Church on Jan. 19 to remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during a service. The Hood AME Zion choir rehearsed beforehand.

Martin Luther King Day in marked each year in Oyster Bay with a service the day before at Christ Church, where there is an interdenominational service between members of the Episcopal Church, neighboring Hood AME Zion Church and the Spanish church, El Camino de Vida. The service included several musical numbers contributed by the members of each church who sometimes sang together. Afterwards, everyone went to the parish hall to enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by the members of El Camino de Vida.
