According to the Garden at St. Francis' garden manager Kristin Talbot, non-native and native pollinators, like bees, butterflies and moths, are what help a garden thrive. On Earth Day, the garden revealed a new pollinator patch, created by Girl Scout Julia Amon, for her Gold Award project.

Combining his love for art and marine life, Gary Solorzano-Ruiz put pencil — and paint — to paper and created a small-scale mural last summer, entering it in the NY Marine Rescue Center's Local Artist Superstar competition.
