West Hempstead High School students share uplifting words

Posted

Art Honor Society students at West Hempstead High School invited their peers to take part in a “What Lifts You” project during lunch periods on March 18.

Members of the Art Honor Society created a backdrop with colorfully painted wings and positive messages for students to take a picture in front. On a dry erase board, students wrote down uplifting words and listed people who uplift them such as their parents, friends and sports. They also shared other meaningful text.

The project is part of Youth Art Month during March through the New York State Art Teachers Association’s #MakeArtMonday initiative. The photos were printed and posted on the original background in the building’s entrance.
