Restorative Therapy and Nursing in Lynbrook salutes veterans

Posted

Patients at Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing waved American flags, sang patriotic songs and thanked their fellow veterans at the nursing facility’s Veterans Day celebration on Nov. 12.

As part of the ceremony, veterans from Bellmore-based Vietnam War Veterans Association Inc. led the processional of American and military flags. “It’s Veterans Day,” said Robert Kohler, a member of the Vietnam War Veterans Association Inc. “We decided to help out other veterans.”

The association members also gave the veterans an American flag pin, and Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing employees presented the veterans with American flags and thank you cards signed by students. The ceremony also featured a rendition of “God Bless America,” and a speech by Lisa Penziner, who works as an administrator at the facility.

“May God bless our veterans, may God bless all those serving in harms way and may God continue to bless America,” she said.
