Oceanside man arrested for allegedly firing rifle in driveway

An Oceanside man was arrested on Monday and charged with reckless endangerment after allegedly firing a gun in his driveway.

According to the Nassau County Police Department, Thomas Zoeller, 57, allegedly fired a 22-caliber rifle and a BB gun in his driveway after aiming them across the street from his home.

The police were responding to a call informing them that there were shots fired, and found Zoeller standing in his driveway. He was taken into police custody without incident, and no injuries were reported.

Zoeller was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday.
