Cedarhurst man arrested for alleged Valley Stream burglary

A Cedarhurst man was arrested by police for an alleged burglary of a Valley Stream business at 1:01 a.m. on May 31.

Police said, the owner of Touch of Glass Collision, at 120 East Hawthorne Ave., received a notification from his alarm company that an unidentified person was inside the store. He immediately brought up video of the location on his cell phone and called 911 and provided a description of the alleged burglar.

After the subsequent investigation, the police found Jorge Santizo-Lanuza, 21, of 217 Prospect Ave. near the business. He was arrested without incident.

Santizo-Lanuza is charged with burglary third-degree, grand larceny third-degree, grand larceny fourth-degree, unauthorized use of a vehicle third-degree and criminal possession of stolen property fifth-degree. He will be arraigned on June 1 in Mineola.
