Nassau County police investigating crimes at Oceanside, Island Park Dunkin' Donuts establishments

NCPD looks into an attempted and successful robbery

Nassau County police are investigating a robbery at Dunkin’ Donuts in Island Park, and an attempted robbery at a Dunkin’ in Oceanside.

According to the Nassau County Police Department, a man entered Dunkin’ Donuts on 2885 Long Beach Road, in Oceanside, at 12:55 a.m. on Friday. The suspect had his hand in his pocket and demanded that an employee open the register. The employee then picked up a knife from the counter and ordered the man to get out of the store. The man then left the store and walked toward Fairview Avenue.

No one was injured during the incident. The suspect was described as a white man, between 37 and 45 years old, and about 6-foot-2 with a blonde or red mustache. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, tan jacket, black sweatpants, black socks and black sandals.

Police are also investigating a robbery at a Dunkin’ Donuts in Island Park on Friday at 1:04 a.m.

According to detectives, an unknown man entered the business, at 4261 Austin Blvd., had his hand in his pocket and demanded that the employee give him the register tray. The victim complied and handed it over to the suspect, who left the store and walked southbound on Austin Boulevard.

No one was injured during the incident. The suspect was described as a man, about 40-years-old, and approximately 6-foot-2. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweater and black pants.

Police did not say whether they believed the same person was responsible for each incident.
