The Nassau Suffolk Water Commissioner’s Association welcomed back Franklin Square Water District Commissioner Madeline Prest and Cathedral Gardens Water District Commissioner Glenn Barnett in late December after both they both won their re-election bid. The NSWCA is comprised of 21 commissioners across Long Island to discuss the best practices and how to maintain the region’s water resources.

“Commissioner-run water districts enable all registered residents to express their personal preferences for the men and women of their choice at the ballot box through the voting process,” NSWCA First Vice-President Michael Rich said. “It also helps ensure that present day economic goals as well as longer term goals such as conservation, sustainability and aquifer health are truly reflective of the mindset of all 21 communities.”

Prest and Barnett will serve for three years until the next election in 2021.
