Franklin Square schools closed as transportation staff quarantines

Posted

All students in the Franklin Square School District will be learning remotely tomorrow, as multiple transportation employees are being quarantined while they wait for the results of Covid tests, Superintendent Jared Bloom announced on the district’s website.

The transportation staff has been exposed to the virus, he said, and the district cannot run its buses without the proper personnel. But, Bloom said, “there has been absolutely no exposure to students or building staff,” and all building staff will report to work except for transportation personnel, health aides and monitors.

Any family that would like to order lunch, meanwhile, may do so by using the Choosi application. Lunch pick-up for students in the virtual program will be at 10:30 a.m. at the Washington Street School and pick-up for families of in-person students will be at 11 a.m. at their home building.

This story will be updated as the situation progresses.
