Nassau County police have arrested a Far Rockaway man for allegedly slashing a man with a sharp object in Franklin Square on Dec. 8 at 5:10 p.m.

According to detectives, a 48-year-old man saw a male driver and a female passenger travel up and down Doris Avenue in Franklin Square multiple times that night, and proceeded to ask them about their business. The female suspect, who has yet to be arrested, then became involved in a confrontation with the victim, police said, and took his cell phone when he tried to call 911, throwing it on the ground, and causing it to break. The driver — who police have identified as Aaron Conrad, 33, of Far Rockaway — then allegedly exited the vehicle, withdrew a sharp object and slashed the victim’s face and arm. He was transported to a local hospital for multiple sutures.

A following investigation led detectives to identify Conrad, who surrendered himself to detectives at the Fifth Police Precinct. He was charged with first-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Lori Golombek, an attorney representing Conrad, declined to comment.

Conrad was arraigned on Jan. 7, and was released on a $40,000 bond, or $20,000 cash. He is due back in court on Jan. 11.
