Teachers and students at the Alden Terrace School were quarantined on Nov. 4, when Elmont Union Free School District officials were informed that a staff member at the school was considered to be a close contact of a family member who had tested positive for Covid-19.

No student or staff member at the school had tested positive for the virus as of Wednesday, Superintendent Kenneth Rosner wrote in a letter to parents, but students who have been in contact with the individual will be learning remotely during the quarantine period.

The building, and especially the rooms the staff member used, meanwhile, were “thoroughly cleaned and disinfected,” Rosner said.
